Flat description:
Bordered by the Rollin N Ranch on the west and Boulder Canyon Wash which runs between the ranch and Big John Flats on the west, the s.w. area is bordered by Boulder Canyon wash as it flows on the n. side of a ridge, the n. area is bordered by the s. slope of Big John Peak; the shallow wash that flows through the flat enters Boulder Canyon at the s.w. margin of the flat.

Consisting of a northern & southern area, the n. area raised about 40 ft., sometimes called the “Spring Hill Mesa”, a gentle w.-facing slope in the s. area
Plant Communities: chaparral, coastal sage scrub
Note: Many plants with late vegetative growth as well as some displaying late blooming in mid Oct. of 2008. Most likely due to several inches of rain in late May and some rain in August of 2008. Many plants of Leptosiphon liniflorus persisted with blooms
