Note: Erpetogomphus lampropeltis lampropeltis was collected outside of Glendora’s City limits. A single specimen was collected at the junction of West and North Forks of the San Gabriel River on 8/11/1986 by Dick Swinney.

This specimen is referenced on page 225 in the publication “Tijdschrift Voor Entomologie”, Volume 137, 1994. The article is titled “A Revision Of The New World Genus Erpetogomphus Hagen In Selys (Odonata: Gomphidae)” by Rosser W. Garrison, Los Angeles County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office, U.S.A.

E. lampropeltis lampropeltis and Libellula croceipennis represent the only specimens of these 2 species recorded for L.A. Co. according to Dr. Garrison. Rosser later collected specimens of L. croceipennis in BDC.
